A LITTLE MAC MAGIC

Give your desktop
a new dimension.

Close the lid. Feel the fold.
Your Mac has a new way to move.

Same Mac. A different feeling.

SCROLL TO FEEL THE FOLD

Made for macOS

HARDWARE. MEET A LITTLE WONDER.

Your desktop.
With a softer side.

You already close your MacBook every day.
iFold Mac makes that ordinary moment feel extraordinary. Your live desktop gently bends, catches the light, and slips away with the lid. Open it again, and everything springs back into place.

A FEELING YOU CAN PLAY WITH

Go on.
Give it a fold.

One gesture. A whole range of feelings.
Drag the angle and find yours.

Interactive illustration. The Mac app responds to your actual lid.

It follows your lead.

Your MacBook’s built-in lid sensor turns a familiar movement into something you can feel. No extra hardware. Just close the lid.

A beautifully soft landing.

A little perspective. A sweep of light. A hint of motion blur. Then a gentle spring back to the desktop you know.

Quietly, in your menu bar.

Dial in the bend, shade, and frost. Pick Silk, Shade, or Frost. Make it feel just right, then let iFold Mac do its thing.

SEVEN WAYS TO SAY GOODNIGHT

Pick your fold.

Every style rides the same spring, blur and light.
Choose the one that feels like you.

Leans away from the hinge, like a sheet folding shut.

Screen recordings of the app. A real desktop; the lid path is scripted so every take matches.

EVERY DIAL, IN THE MENU BAR

Make it
yours.

One click on the menu bar icon and the whole fold is yours to tune. Nothing to configure before it works — everything to play with after.

OFF THE RENDER. ON YOUR DESK.

A small detail.
A real delight.

This is iFold Mac on an actual MacBook.
The desktop leans away as the lid comes down, creating that just-one-more-time feeling.

iFold FOR MACOS

A new angle on
your everyday.

A little app. An unexpectedly lovely detail.

macOS Sonoma 14+ Supported Apple silicon MacBooks

GET iFold MAC

Download.
Then one extra click.

iFold Mac is free and open source. It isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so the first launch takes one extra step — it’s spelled out below.

Download ifold-mac.dmg

Version 1.2.1 · 1.2 MB · macOS Sonoma 14+ · Apple silicon MacBook with a lid sensor (M2 Air and later, 14-inch / 16-inch Pro)

Installing

  1. Drag iFold Mac to Applications. Open the disk image, drag the app across, then launch it from Applications.
  2. When macOS says it “could not verify iFold Mac.app”, click Done. Not Move to Trash. This appears for every app that isn’t notarized, and Done is what unlocks the next step.
  3. Allow it once. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, click Open Anyway, then Open. Or skip the dialog from Terminal:
    xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/iFold Mac.app"
  4. Grant Screen Recording, then Relaunch. iFold Mac bends a live copy of your screen, so macOS asks for Screen Recording. Turn it on under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, then click Relaunch in iFold Mac.

Frames are processed on your Mac and stay in GPU memory. Nothing is recorded to disk or uploaded. Every release lists its SHA-256 on GitHub.

Rather build it yourself?

git clone https://github.com/maheshj01/ifold-mac.git && cd ifold-mac && ./build.sh --run

Needs Xcode. The app you get is identical — source on GitHub.
